The Galston-Glenorie Cricket Club enters teams into the “seniors” age group as an affiliate of The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai and Hills District Cricket Association (HK&HDCA). The term seniors is misleading as any person of any age can be registered as a player in the various competitions and the HK&HDCA have a grade for people of all abilities ranging from A grade – D3s, totaling 10. The HK&HDCA run a number of competitions on both Saturday afternoons as well as Sunday cricket.
The Saturday afternoon competition is played starting at 1pm and finishing around 6pm each Saturday afternoon from mid-September running through until the end of March with a 2 week break for Christmas. This competition involves both One-day (40 Overs per side) and 2-day games (75 overs per day).
The Sunday competition is exclusively a One-Day competition. These games are played between 12pm and 5pm, generally every second Sunday with a total of 7 matches being played before the completion of semi-finals and Grand Final. These matches are of 36 overs per side.
In addition to the two above competitions, the HK&HDCA runs a Twenty/20 Competition for interested teams as a separate competition at the beginning of the season. Games will be played in a T/20 format for all nominated teams in 5 grades. A maximum of 16 teams shall be allotted to each competition. All nominated teams shall play a minimum of two T/20 games in their competition as well as Semi-Finals and a Grand Final. Games may be played on Saturday (1pm-4pm) or Sunday (12pm-3pm).
